Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Proposed Budget Available for Review

Town Manager Todd Herms has given his Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Recommended Budget to the Mayor and Town Council. The Recommended Budget totals $26,327,571 for town operations, capital improvement, and debt services for the upcoming year.

The Mayor and Town Council welcomes public input and will hold a public hearing on the FY 2024-2025 Recommended Budget on Tuesday, June 11, at 6 p.m., during its regular Town Council meeting at the Maiden Town Hall.

The Recommended Budget includes some of the following:

  • Tax Rate to remain the lowest in the county at 38 cents with a projected tax base of just over $2.55 Billion.
  • Sanitation fees to remain at $8.12 per month.
  • Electrical rates to remain the same. That is 13 years with no increase to residential electrical rates.
  • A slight increase in Water and Sewer rates, the average customer inside town will experience a total utility bill increase of less than $2 a month.

The Recommended Budget also some of the following Capital Projects:

  • Two Fully Equipped Police Vehicles.
  • Total Radio replacement for all Firefighters.
  • Double Pickle Ball Courts at Union Street Park.
  • Last Phase of installing Air Conditioning units for the gym and restrooms at the Maiden Recreation Center.
  • New 60 Foot Bucket Truck for the Electrical Department.

The recommended budget is balanced and prepared in accordance with the Local Government Budget and Fiscal Control Act and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
