About Us

The Maiden Fire Department was organized in 1921 and the first fire apparatus purchased was a 1921 Ford Model T Fire Truck. In the early years, a 1945 Chevrolet Pumper was purchased and was used for many years, until it was removed from service in 1974. This truck is currently on display in the Catawba County Firefighter's Museum.

Currently, the Maiden Fire Department operates with a full-time Fire Chief, a volunteer Assistant Chief, two volunteer Captains, two volunteer Lieutenants, 6 full-time Firefighters/Engineers, part-time staff, and volunteers.  Maiden Fire Department also sponsors an active junior firefighter program.  Maiden Fire Department serves an estimated 8,000 residents in the 29-square-mile district.
